上海市汽车工程学会（英文名：Shanghai Society of Automotive Engineers，英文缩写：SAE-S）成立于1987年，是中国上海汽车科技工作者的学术性法人团体；是上海科学技术协会的组成部分；是中国汽车工程学会的地方分会，非盈利性社团组织。
Established in 1987, Shanghai Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE-S) is an academic body corporate for automotive scientific and technical workers in Shanghai. It is also a component part of Shanghai Association for Science and Technology, and a regional branch of Society of Automotive Engineers of China. It is a non-profit mass organization.
· 宗 旨：
以实事求是的科学态度，团结上海市汽车行业及与其相关行业的广大科技工作者推动上海市汽车工业的科技进步和产业发展；促进科技成果尽快转化为生产力；培养汽车科技人才成长；促进国内外汽车界的科技交流；传播和普及汽车科技知识。
Purpose of the Society
With a scientific manner of respecting facts and truth, SAE-S aims to unite scientific and technical workers within the Shanghai automotive industry and related industries to promote scientific and technical progress and business development for Shanghai automotive industry; to accelerate the conversion of scientific and technical achievements into productive force; to foster the growth of automotive scientific and technical professionals; to facilitate technical exchange among automotive industries from different countries and regions; to spread and popularize scientific and technical knowledge of the automotive.
· 功 能：
开展学术交流、技术咨询服务、培训及科普活动、编辑出版学术和科普刊物、举办国内国际技术活动，使学会成为企业和科技工作者之间、科技工作者与科技工作者之间、政府和科技工作者之间的桥梁和纽带；成为汽车科技人员之家。
Function of the Society
The society is involved in automotive academic exchanges, technical consulting service, training and popularization of scientific knowledge; editing and publishing academic and popular scientific works; conducting domestic and international technical activities. With all these movements, the society dedicates itself as a bridge between companies and individual scientific workers, government and scientific workers, and among scientific workers themselves, and also as a home to all automotive scientific and technical personnel.
·现 状：
上海市汽车工程学会目前拥有会员一千二百余人，团体会员七十余个。会员均来自上海市各汽车、零部件及相关工业企业、营销服务企业和科研大专院校等单位，部分会员同时参加美国汽车工程师学会（SAE）。学会下设十六个专业委员会（整车、发动机、应用与服务、计算机、技经、拖拉机、摩托车、制造、节能与材料、空调、标准、测试、电子技术、环保、安全、质量）。学会每年举行各专业技术交流数十次，同时开展技术咨询服务和专业翻译服务。
Current status
SAE-S presently has more than 1200 individual members, about 70 group members, who come from various vehicle and part manufacturers, related industrial companies, marketing and sales companies, research institutes and universities in Shanghai. Some of them have also been members in SAE of USA. Affiliated to the society are 16 specialty commissions (complete vehicle, engine, application and service, computer, technological economy, tractor, motorcycle, manufacturing, energy saving and material, air condition, standard, testing, electronic technology, environmental protection, safety, quality). It convenes a few dozens of technical exchanges of various specialties every year and meanwhile provides technical consulting and translation service.
·背景：
学会挂靠上汽集团。经五届理事会选举，理事长为上汽集团副总裁陈因达，现任秘书长为高凯生，副理事长分别为上海市相关汽车行业的领导、前上汽集团副总裁、上汽股份副总师、 通用、大众，汇众、泛亚技术中心等领导、以及交大、同济大学等大专院校的负责人担任。学会秘书处由在行业中长期任职的具有高级职称的中层干部组成。学会在上海市、上汽集团乃至全国汽车行业有较强协调、沟通能力，自2004年起被上海市科协评为3星级学会，2005年被上海市社团管理局评为上海市优秀学会。
Background of the Society
The Society is attached to Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (Group), the SAIC. By the election of the 5th Board of Directors, SAIC Vice President Chen YinDa is elected as Board Chairperson, Gao Kaisheng is current Chief Secretary, and Vice Chairpersons are leaders from related Shanghai automotive industry, former Vice President of SAIC, deputy Chief Engineer from SAIC Holding, leaders from Shanghai General Motors, Shanghai Volkswagen, Huizhong, Pan-Asia Technical Automotive Center (PATAC), and principals from universities and colleges, such as Shanghai Jiaotong University and Tongji University. The Society Secretariat consists of middle-level cadres with senior title of professional post, who have been in office for a long term in the industry. The Society has strong capabilities of coordinating and communicating in Shanghai City, SAIC and even in the whole automotive industry around China. It was awarded Three-Star Association by Shanghai Institute of Science and Technology in 2004, and in 2005 it is awarded Shanghai Excellent Association by Shanghai Administration Bureau of NGOs.
